Nevus Treatment, Possible in 3 Minutes with Advanced Methods

The most practical method in tattoo removal applications is radiofrequency, also known as RF, which is commonly referred to as the evaporation method in the community. It is an application that takes about 2-3 minutes on average. In the continuation of our article, we will talk about many methods commonly used for tattoo removal treatment. Before applying to a center for tattoo removal, it is recommended to learn about the advantageous treatment methods that you can benefit from.

Frequently Used Surgical and Non-Surgical Procedures for Nevus Removal

Commonly used methods include RF, laser, electrocautery, and plasma. Surgery is rarely preferred, or centers lacking the equipment or expertise for non-surgical methods may resort to surgery. In this article, we will begin with non-surgical methods and conclude with treatments performed through classic surgery.

Nevus Removal

Treatment of Nevus with Radiofrequency Method (Can be Called Vaporization Treatment)

This is one of the most frequently used methods. With the device that converts radio waves into heat energy, moles can be easily vaporized. Regardless of whether the mole is raised or superficial, all moles can be easily removed with RF. Moles removed with RF usually leave no trace. Occasionally, there may be a faint mark that is barely noticeable from a conversational distance.

Laser Mole Removal

A highly popular method in the health, cosmetic, and care fields, laser mole treatment is a frequently used and successful method. While 90% of patients express a desire for laser mole treatment, this method is only successful in treating superficial moles. Unfortunately, it may not be sufficient for raised and light-colored moles. The application is similar to RF, and superficial moles can be treated quickly.

Plasma Technique

Performed with a device that is not electrically connected, it is done with a rechargeable or battery-operated device. In plasma treatment, the device tip is brought close to the mole but does not make direct contact. The air between the tip and the mole is ionized, transforming the air into plasma, the fourth state of matter. The mole is treated with this plasma effect. Plasma can also be used for the treatment of spots and wrinkles besides moles. It is highly effective for superficial moles but less successful for raised moles.

Electrocautery Method

Also known simply as a cautery, this device converts electrical energy into heat energy. The tip of the device, which provides high heat, is brought into contact with moles to vaporize them. It is very similar to RF and can be easily applied to both raised and superficial moles. In treatments using a high-powered cautery, the performing physician must be very careful and adjust the sensitivity appropriately. Otherwise, permanent scars and indentations may be inevitable.

Cryotherapy (Freezing)

This method is mostly used by dermatologists. Moles subjected to liquid nitrogen are frozen up to -90 degrees. The frozen mole undergoes changes in its protein structure, leading to decay. Decaying moles fall off within a few days. This method requires great care, and the application must be precise and in the correct dosage. Otherwise, more tissue loss than necessary may occur, leaving indentations in place of healthy tissue loss.

Mole Surgery

This is the oldest and most traditional method. The basis of the surgery is the removal of the mole through an incision. It is a highly successful method in terms of removing the mole. However, it is not preferred due to leaving a scar larger and more discomforting than the removed mole. Classic mole surgery can only be used for raised and large moles. It cannot be used for small or superficial moles. Due to its numerous disadvantages, its use has almost ceased or is very rarely used by few individuals.

Which Doctor/Specialty to Consult for Mole Treatment?

You can choose general surgeons or dermatologists for mole examination and treatment. I have the necessary experience and equipment for mole removal. During the examination I will conduct when you come to my clinic, I recommend the most suitable and advantageous method based on your condition. I use the RF method in almost all of my patients, completing the procedure by vaporizing moles in about 3 minutes.
